It doesn't get more classic than the sound of TR-909 hi-hats, and the Tiptop Audio HATS909 delivers! This 8HP Eurorack synth module includes the same lo-fi sound as the original, complete with vintage-style analog processing that will satisfy any traditionalist, but that's just the beginning. With its expanded range of accent control, the HATS909 offers a wonderfully dynamic sound, and its continuous tune control lets you pull off cool pitch-related tricks. What's more, a modulation switch lets you add internal modulation to either volume or pitch, adding AM or FM synthesis to the HATS909's bag of tricks.

The HATS909 faithfully re-creates the original TR-909's tone circuit, capturing the classic lo-fi metallic hiss that's punctuated countless electronic hits since 1984. This sound is the result of a 6-bit sample and sophisticated analog filtering to shape and manipulate the audio. While the HATS909 includes excellent analog processing, you can bypass it all and send the raw sample straight out to your favorite Eurorack modules.





Get creative with flexible accent and tuning controls





Both the HATS909's accent and its tuning circuit accept CV input, providing you with an extra layer of continuous control. Sweetwater synth nuts love the way it interacts with standalone sequencers. Combined with separate decay settings for the open and closed hat sounds, it's easy to create your ideal '909 hi-hat tone.





Kick up your hi-hat sound with AM and FM synthesis





Since Tiptop Audio already provided the circuits for continuous volume and pitch, they decided to add on a modulation option that lets you add AM or FM synthesis to your hi-hat tone. There's an internal VCA, plus an external input for external oscillators, drum sounds, or other sources. So if you want to get weird with your hats, the HATS909 is the rhythm module for you.
